You can usually tell straight away when someone is using home fragrances in their house. Scented candles give off quite a strong aroma that is immediately apparent, while other home fragrance products such as reed diffusers tend to be a little more subtle in respect of the fragrance they emit. The great news is that most luxury candle makers such as true grace candles and yankee candles also produce a large collection of reed diffusers as well, often in scents to match their candles. The main benefit of reed diffusers over scented candles is that they can work continuously without needing to be lit. This means, for instance, that if you put a reed diffuser in your hall you will be greeted with its lovely aroma as soon as you – or any other visitors to your home – step inside. Obviously this will not be possible with scented candles because you cannot safely leave them unattended or leave them lit when no one is at home.
Both candles and diffusers are easy to use. Let’s face it, we all know how a candle works. With scented candles you need to give the candle a little time for the top layer of wax to melt completely before you will start to notice the aroma. With a reed diffuser you may get a more subtle fragrance but you can notice it as soon as you set the diffuser up. Just uncork or unseal the bottle of aromatic oils, place the reeds in the oil and then immediately flip them over and you will notice the aroma straight way.You can also use scented candles and reed diffusers together. The diffuser provides a subtle background scent and when you want something more itense you simply light the matching candle. Most of the candle making companies create candles and diffusers in the same scents so that it is really easy to pair up both types of home fragrance products to give a beautiful effect in your home.
Reed diffusers also give you a bit more versatility than scented candles. Obviously as we have seen they can be used when no one is at home but you can also vary the intensity of the aroma you get with a diffuser. When you light your scented candle the fragrance does not change in strength, but if you want a more pronounced aroma from your fragrance diffuser all you need to do is to flip the reeds over at more frequent intervals for a stronger scent. This is just the kind of flexibility which modern consumers are looking for these days.
In addition to candles and diffusers there are also incense sticks and oil burners available to give your home fragrance, though neither are as popular as scented candles and diffusers.
